The increasing cost of living - and why you should go camping in Robin Hood’s Bay

May 12, 2022

The cost of living is rising to levels we have never experienced before. You name it - petrol, gas, electricity, food - the cost to the average household pocket reaching scarily high levels. With more pressure on your budget than ever before, even the money you spend on your holiday needs careful consideration.

So with prices for pretty much everything on the rise, why not think about going on holiday in North Yorkshire this year?

Holiday in North Yorkshire

There is so much to see and do in Yorkshire and there’s a reason why it’s affectionately known as ‘God’s own country.’ What’s more, all these attractions are available at a cost that won’t break the bank.

The countryside around
Robin Hood’s Bay is fantastic for long and short walks, especially if you want to take your dog with you. The North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are two spectacular national parks you can enjoy, while the coastal hikes you can do on our doorstep will make you fall in love with Whitby and North Yorkshire. The Cleveland Way also boasts some of the most spectacular vistas in the area, with its hidden coves and fishing villages to explore along the way.

There are also sites of huge historical significance close to
Middlewood Farm. The Old Coastguards is a visitor and education centre that explores the secret history of smuggling, the geology of the area, local wildlife and the impact of living by the coast. Robin Hood’s Bay Museum gives you a fascinating insight into the local history of the area, with replica smugglers’ houses and shipwrecks to keep you captivated, while the Old St. Stephen’s Church overlooks Robin Hood’s Bay and pays tribute to lives lost at sea. It also remembers the resilience that this North East community has.

Whitby

And of course, why wouldn’t you want to visit Whitby  while you’re here? This picturesque town has delighted visitors to the North East for years with its rich coastal and countryside landscapes, as well as its maritime history.

With so much to see and do, Middlewood Farm is the perfect location for you to explore the awe-inspiring beaches, coasts and countryside that Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby have to offer.

Camping is known to have benefits for reducing stress and contributing positively to your emotional and physical wellbeing (as long as you don’t eat too many snacks or bad food at a barbeque!)
